How to Use Doremisoft Video Converter for Mac

Import Source Video File into the Program

The added files will be displayed as thumbnails in the interface, you can also change their sequence as you like.

Choose the Proper Output Format

As said previously, this program provides piles of video/audio output formats as well as many optimal presets, which will surely meet your demand. To choose the output format, you can press the "Profile" button, a format list will be offered for your choice. Let me give you an example, you would like to transfer the downloaded YouTube FLV video to your iPhone 5S for playback, so, you need to choose "Profile"--"Apple Device"--"iPhone 5(*mp4)" as the output format. In the same way, choosing "Final Cut Pro"--"Apple ProRes 422(*mov)", you can import the FLV video to FCP for post production freely.

Tips: Next to the "Convert to" menu bar, there lies the "Setting" button, click which you can are allowed to customize the parameters of the output video/audio files such as resolution, frame rate, encoder, bitrates, sample rate, etc. After finishing, remember to press "Done".

Launch the Conversion

Click the "Save to" button, you can save the converted video file to the location you like, i.e, create a new file folder at the desktop. After that, hit the big "Start" button to launch the conversion at once. You can view the process on the progress bar. Generally speaking, the larger your source file is, the longer it will take to finish the conversion. So, please be a little patient.

How to Customize the Source Video

Another highlight of this program is its built-in editor which allows you to polish the source video file like a pro. Here are what you can do:

Trim Video

If you would like to divide the source video file into several segments, you can click the "Trim" button on the tool bar to make it. When the video is being played, you can move the slide bar to define the duration time, or adjust the "Start Time" and "End Time" to trim the source video into sections. The segments will be shown clearly and you can remove any one of them by hitting the "-" button if needed.

Split Video

When click the "Split" button, a small window will appear, where you have got two options "Split by duration" and "Split average", please note that, if the video length is less than one minute, the first option "Split by duration" is unavailable. Instead you can try to split video into several clips.

Advanced Editing:

Click the forth button "Edit" on the tool bar, you will enter the Advanced editing section. There, five options are awaiting for customization :"Crop", "Effect", "3D Effect", "Watermark" and "Audio". Let's check them out one by one as below:

1."Crop"

You can flip or rotate the vidoe file horizontally or vertically based on your needs. Also, you are allowed to alter the dimension of file by adjusting "Left", "Top", "Right" and "Bottom", or you can drag the square freely to get rid of the unwanted part or annoying commercial logo as you like. Besides, press the "Zoom" button, you can set the output video ratio to be "Original", "Full", "16:9" or "4:3" as per you needs.

2."Effect"

In this section, you can customize the parameters of the source video file including its Brightness, Contrast and Saturation by dragging the equivalent sliders. In the meanwhile, you can choose "Gray", "Emboss" and "Old Film" from the "Effect" column. Once finished, click "Done" to move on.

3."3D Effect"

If you want to make the common video more special, how can you ever miss the amazing 3D effects? Three types of 3D effects (Red Blue, Green Red and Yellow Blue) are available for choice. You can pick any one of them for preview and decide if it is workable for you. By the way, you can drag the slider of "Depth" to adjust the effect freely.

4."Watermark"

If you have got a nice picture, you can embed it into program and set as the watermark to the source video. The transparency of the watermark is customizable. Besides, you can also add text(write whatever you want) to the source file, change its position, customize the font, font style, etc freely.

5."Audio"

You can drag "Volume" slider to increase or reduce the audio freely. In the mean while, you are allowed to add "Fade in" or "Fade out" effects by dragging the sliders respectively. Click "reset", you can re-do the customization if needed.

How to Download Videos from Websites

Copy the URL of the Video You Want to Download

Firstly, you should open your web browser like Firefox/Chrome, etc, type the video website address in the address bar and log into the homepage. Then, choose the video that you would like to download, highlight its URL and copy it.

Paste the URL & Start to Download Video

Coming back to Doremisoft Video Conveter for Mac, please make sure you've run the program, then, click the "Download" button on the tool bar, you will enter the downloading section automatically. After that, press "Paste URL" button, the URL of your selected video will be added in the workbench window immediately. In the meanwhile, the program will begin to download the video. A progress bar will show you the completion in real-time.

Tips: Hit the "Setting" button, you can customize the quality of the downloaded video, i.e, best quality, medium quality, low quality. Meanwhile, press the "Output" button, you are allowed to set a location for saving the downloaded video as per your need.

Convert the Downloaded Videos

If you want to convert the downloaded videos, that's quite easy. As soon as they have been downloaded, click the "Import" icon or "Import All" button and all of the downloaded videos will be loaded into the program for conversion later.
