One day, I came across a forum and found a friends complain:
"Is there an easy way to convert WMV(Windows Video) files made in movie maker to Quicktime format(MOV). I would like to burn Windows movie maker files I made before I got my MAC in iDVD. Everything I’ve tried has failed.
1. tried Converting wmv to mpg on my Windows box, Quicktime plays the video and audio fine on the Mac, but idvd only imports mov files and imovies import strips audio from imported mpgs.
2. VLC says it converts wmv to mov but quicktime on the Mac cannot read the converted file. VLC is also hard to use with all the options and it is possible I’m just not encoding it right. It also errors out with some encoding options. I am using Tiger on my Powerbook."
Did you have the same experience like the guy? One great solution for you is to use Doremisoft WMV to MOV Converter Mac to convert wmv to Quicktime on mac os x.
Doremisoft Mac Video Converter is also an excellent Mac WMV to MOV converter, with this application, converting WMV to MOV on Mac is very easy with the following three intuitive steps:
Click the “Add File” button, or go to "File" menu, choose "Add Video" to get the AVI files imported you want to convert. Click the small arrow at the right side to open the preview windows, so you can preview the imported video.
You can change video brightness, contrast and saturation of your WMV video for the output mov files. And you can apply video effects(Gray, Emboss, Old Film) to your MOV files.
After you have imported the video WMV file. In the list of Profiles (Profile field), Choose the "Common Video > MOV" to set mov format as the output file.
When the above steps are done, Click the "START" button to start the WMV to MOV conversion on Mac. After the conversion is done, you can play output MOV videos in QuickTime, edit them in iMovie, FCP and FCE, or take these mov files with iPad, iPhone, iPod on the go to kill the boring time during the trip.
