Problem: import DVD into FCP
I have a family DVD that I want to edit in fcp6, and redistribute to family as a fixed-up DVD. I have the below questions:
1) very basic: when I dbl-click on the original dvd icon I see three folders (Audio_TS, collateral, and Video_TS). I assume that I'm interested only in the Video_TS files and that they also contain the audio. Is that right?
2) The Video_TS folder contains files with suffixes .BUP, .IFO and .VOB I'm assuming that I'm interested only in the .VOB files. Is that right?
3)What converter is the best choice right now? I have MPEG Streamclip and I'm experimenting with Media Converter. I'm willing to pay for a better choice if there is one.
4) What export setting would give me the best export format for importing and then editing in fcp6? MPEG Streamclip and Media Converter offer many choices.
