How to import AVCHD to iMovie 11/iMovie 09/iMovie 08

Since Apple claimed supporting AVCHD video in iMovie 8 in August 2007, it has already released the iMovie'09 and iMovie'11 with better compatibilities with AVCHD camcorder models. However, even the updated version, iMovie 11 still can't recognize all the AVCHD camcorders.

If have trouble in importing AVCHD files into iMovie, you may need to convert AVCHD to iMovie acceptable file format like MOV or H.264 with Doremisoft AVCHD Converter for Mac. Now, follow the step by step guide to learn how to convert AVCHD to iMovie MOV file format:

Free download the Mac AVCHD Converter, install and launch it.

In addition, if you have hassle in dealing with AVCHD playback on PC, please refer to the Windows version of AVCHD Converter.

Click the "Add File" button to browse your Mac hard disc and select the AVCHD MTS/M2TS videos you want to edit in iMovie.

click on the dropdown menu of "Profile", and then follow "iMovie video" > "iMovie MPEG-4 Movie File".

Hit "Start" button to start converting AVCHD to MOV Mac.

When the conversion is done, just import the converted AVCHD to iMovie and enjoy editing job.
