VOB files, known as DVD Video Object files contained in the VIDEO_TS file folder copied from a DVD disc, are the main contents of a DVD disc for they contain the actual video data. VOB is kind of popular file format for saving video data used in DVD, but DVD only. That means VOB is not commonly used either online or offline, while AVI is.
